How do clients become members of SalonBLOCS?

There are a few ways for clients, or members of the public to find your club and sign up. They can: 1. Visit app.salonblocs.com and find the nearest salon club by location. 2. Visit salonblocs.com/joinourclub and type your salon name in the smart search. 3. Visit app.salonblocs.com/app/[salonname] and join your club directly. The term "Sign up" means a user has started a BLOCS account and chosen your club to join. At this point they become an unsubscribed member (they haven't paid yet) - they can view availability and message you directly through the software but cannot book.

What is the price of the Salon Membership - Software License

What is an Unlimited Blowdry club?

When we talk about a blowdry club what we really mean is a salon membership scheme which allows it's club members access to UNLIMITED monthly blowdries for a single monthly fee. The simplicity is what's important. A Blowdry club is not a "book 6 get the 7th free" it's not "pay upfront and get X% off" and it is most certainly not a reckless discount. "UNLIMITED" IS SCARY, BUT HUGELY PROFITABLE BLOCS creators have developed the unlimited membership structure over the course of 3 years; perfecting it until it was right - No other structure is as profitable, popular or sustainable as this.

Can my SalonBLOCS members attend another salons club?

No definitely not! When building our software we were tempted to follow this profitable structure of shared membership, but however much this may be attractive to the client it certainly isn't to the salon. BLOCS encourages loyalty to one salon, even over that of loyalty to individual team members within the salon - by offering a shared membership, where members can visit multiple salons; the growth of revenue through up-selling and continual, repeat opportunities is diluted and even lost entirely.

How do I promote and market my salon membership?

Using our marketing guide and support package, salons easily and effectively promote their memberships via social media, website and online directories as well as marketing their clubs through traditional methods like window display, leafleting and networking. How do SalonBLOCS members pay me their subscription?

We use the payment portal STRIPE for all our transactions within the software. On creating a BLOCS account salons either sign up to stripe or link an existing account - this can also be linked to a bank account to which stripe will deposit funds on a chosen frequency. When subscribing to your club, members log their D/C card details. Members can only book, once a payment is taken and the next months payment is taken automatically on the same day of the following month, unless cancelled. If the subscription is cancelled, or fails to take, the member cannot book any further appointments.

How do SalonBLOCS members book their appointments?

Members are free to book all their appointments themselves online through BLOCS. By default the book that your members see is closed, blocks of 30 minutes (extended time settings available) are only opened by you, for the times, dates and team members you choose. Members are alerted by email whenever blocks are opened with direct links to place their booking,

How much do SalonBLOCS members pay in subscriptions?

That's completely up to you. We suggest your monthly subscription should be set to 2 x your average blowdry price, offering excellent value for your members, but you choose your subscription during your account setup. Keep in mind BLOCS takes 10%. So if your average blowdry price is £20, we suggest you set your monthly subscription to £40 - £45 and BLOCS receives just £4 - £4.50 per month. This price can be changed by you at anytime easily within the software.

Will a Salon Membership work for my salon?

A SalonBLOCS membership will work for any salon wanting to fill spaces, attract new clientele, breed client loyalty, reduce staff downtime, alleviate recruitment costs, and drive a solid, consistent income. Any salon can run a successful SalonBLOCS membership following our coaching plan. Even brand new salons can launch their clubs from day one, or established businesses can drive additional profits, and compliment their existing services with a subscription membership. We advise that Salons wanting to add a membership to their business should have at least one member of employed staff.

What is the SalonBLOCS Software?

By running a membership through BLOCS, users are restricted to availability and number of appointments, by the stylist they choose and the lengths of time allowed. What if members book an appointment everyday?

It's simple; they wont because they can't. We suggest that with an unlimited salon membership, members should be restricted to 2 bookings at one time. They may have unlimited appointments per month, but these can only be pre-booked 2 in advance. This rule prevents over-booking as members are forced to wait until they have attended one of these appointments, before booking the next. Better still, many members have a date in the the month when they need to guarantee an appointment. They will then book this date, and only have 1 booking to play with. This is just one of the BLOCS rules.

How much does it cost to run a blowdry club?

Let's start with the cost of a single blowdry; water, product, electricity and laundry. (We exclude staff time in the calculation because we only allocate team members if they are working that day.) For our salon, this adds up to just 40p per blowdry. On average our members visit four times per month; even "unlimited" has restrictions to prevent over-use. Additionally, using SalonBLOCS software 10% is deducted from the subscription fee. Therefore a club such as our own, at £40 per month costs £6 per member, per month - leaving a profit of £34 - and we have 40 members.
